JUNIOR COUSE for ages 12, 13 and 14

Our Junior Course is specially designed to give our youngest students a fantastic holiday and to help them begin to enjoy English, using it all day with other students and with native speakers in and around the school.

Unlike most English language schools, at ECHO our students are obliged to speak English all day, inside and outside classes. In this way, they not only practice their English a lot, but also make many friends from other countries.

CLASSES
Classes are organised so that each student is with others who have a similar standard of English. There are usually 5 or 6 students in each group, a maximum of 8. All our teachers are qualified professionals, chosen for their special abilities with younger learners, and each class is conducted according to a fun, communicative method.

All Junior Students have three hours of morning classes. These generally encompass grammar, vocabulary building and functional language. Students have the chance to do a lot of speaking in class, building their confidence to use the language in the afternoons and evenings.

AFTERNOONS AND EVENINGS
Junior Students have sport and social programmes each afternoon and evening from Monday to Friday. These include football and badminton, student theatre productions and karaoke, as well as trips into Brighton and Hove for the famous Pier and the museums.

There is a weekly 'project' to encourage everyone to work with students from different classes, usually either designing a poster- presentation or making a film.

On Saturday there is an excursion, alternating between London and another famous city, for example Canterbury or Portsmouth.

LIVING AT ECHO
Life at ECHO is like being part of one big family and we encourage students to enjoy all our facilities here at the school, including two large TV rooms with over 500 films, Playstation2, modern internet computer room, extensive book library and sports equipment. Free tea, coffee and snacks are available outside lessons, and there is a free laundry service for those staying over two weeks.

All ECHO students eat together, either in the house or in the heated patio-garden. They have three excellent meals per day. During the meals they continue to speak English with students and staff from the whole school.

Junior Students are monitored very closely. They are not allowed to wander by themselves and ECHO staff always know where they are. Normally two students share a room, and all rooms are within five minutes of the school's main building.
