Practical information

Please check with the airline if your child can travel unaccompanied by an adult. We recommend taking advantage of our taxi service.

Gatwick – We recommend that you fly to Gatwick Airport, which is the nearest airport to Arundel. From there we can arrange for a driver to meet students in the arrival lounge. The journey normally takes under an hour.
Heathrow – Heathrow is the next nearest airport. The journey by car normally takes under an hour and a half.
Stansted– the journey between Stansted Airport and Arundel normally takes about two hours.

We arrange airport transfer taxis for students. This costs less than a taxi from the ranks, the taxi can be shared with other Echo students arriving at the same time and the service is reliable.
The driver will meet students in the Arrivals Hall in Gatwick, Heathrow or Stansted. He will hold up a sign showing the student’s name, and will then drop them off at the ECHO House. If the student cannot see the driver he/she should wait at the ‘airport information’ desk and phone the school.

IMPORTANT: Students are personally responsible for paying the driver directly for the taxi. Taxi money cannot be included in the ECHO fees. To make sure that the return journey can be paid for, students should deposit sufficient funds in the ECHO safe-box on arrival.
