The Intensive Course is for advanced level students who want a hard-working, academically focussed visit to the school.
Each weekday there are three classes; there is also an individual tutorial, followed by personalised language development tasks.

Students work on their writing and analysis skills, strengthen their vocabulary and structure, and develop their speaking and listening skills. The tutorial focuses on specific needs, such as exam techniques, developing an argument, or analysing literature.

ECHO students can study for end of school exams such as the Abitur and Baccalaureate, or for international English exams such as IELTS, TOEFL or the Cambridge First Certificate, Advanced and Proficiency tests .
Students work on exam techniques, take practice tests, and get personalised feedback from their teachers.

The Intensive Course can be tailored to students entering an English or international boarding school. Students work on their skills such as essay writing, note-taking and argumentation, so they are fully prepared to successfully meet the academic demands of their schools.

Students on the Intensive Course can join in activity programmes and weekend excursions, as well as the weekly ‘project’, designed to encourage everyone to work with students from different classes, such as making a film or creating a school newspaper.
